2009 Winners: Leona Lewis and Scott Maslen The Sun CC

Pop princess Leona Lewis and EastEnders heartthrob Scott Maslen have been chosen as the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities alive for 2009!

This is the second time that The X Factor winner Lewis has been crowned Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA. And it's no wonder – the sexy songstress's commitment to advocating a vegetarian lifestyle is unwavering, and she also inspires compassion in fans all around the world. But Lewis, who has been vegetarian since the age of 12, doesn't just avoid eating animals – she is also a firm believer that animals are not ours to wear, saying, "I am vegetarian so I don't have clothes, shoes or bags made from leather or suede or any animal products. ... I'm on a mission".

Scott Maslen has a tendency to play TV bad guys – such as Jack Branning on EastEnders – but when it comes to animals, his heart of gold shines through. Maslen, who describes himself as a "passionate vegetarian", says, "My favourite dish is vegetarian spaghetti Bolognese. I make it with meat substitute, it's delicious". This soap star hunk has been vegetarian since the age of 18 and was voted Sexiest Male at the 2009 British Soap Awards. All in a day's work – eh, Scott?
